The Gustav and Wilhelmine Reiser-Siemssen / Martha Selve-Gerdtzen Scholarship Foundation provides support to outstanding students from all disciplines at the University of Zurich who are in need of financial assistance.
Gustav Reiser (1876–1952), director of the Wädenswil cloth factory, and his wife Wilhelmine (1886–1976) were dedicated to the education of young people throughout their lives. Following her husband’s death, Wilhelmine donated a substantial part of his estate to the University of Zurich, thereby establishing the foundation. Martha Selve-Gerdtzen was likewise deeply committed to academic education. Her husband, Fritz Selve (1849–1916), was an entrepreneur in the metal industry.
The UZH Student Financial Aid Office administers various scholarships, including those of the Gustav and Wilhelmine Reiser-Siemssen / Martha Selve-Gerdtzen Scholarship Foundation. UZH students may apply for financial support twice a year via the Student Financial Aid Office’s online portal.
